Dr. Chandra Nanthakumar, a certified yoga instructor and yoga therapist, received her prestigious Classical yoga training at the Malaysian Association of Yoga Instructors (MAYI). Being so passionate about the teachings of yoga and its scientific philosophy, she then pursued specialized courses such as pregnancy yoga, pranayama (breathing techniques), and dhyana (meditation) at MAYI under the tutelage of her renowned guru, Master Mani.
Nevertheless, that did not stop her from reaching greater heights. Being an advocate of life-long learning, she then went the extra mile to further her studies and obtain her doctorate in the field of Natural Health Sciences specializing in yoga therapy.
With tact and finesse, she has been conducting various types of yoga classes for teenagers and adults for almost a decade. Her classes are not only held at the MAYI Yoga Academy but also at the university where she is a full-time academic. Her classes vary from breath and mind to hatha yoga and anti-aging yoga. She also conducts breath and mind, and Classical yoga workshops at her leisure.
Chandra is also a professional trainer for various courses offered at the academy. Besides training budding mind-body health enthusiasts to become level 1 and level 2 Yoga Instructors, she also coaches individuals who wish to deepen their knowledge on the yogic philosophy and upgrade their skills to become certified Yoga Therapists.
Despite her hectic work schedule, she finds time to facilitate hatha yoga classes at welfare homes. Her aim in life is to reach out to all particularly teenagers to help them cope with stress, anxiety, and weighty issues.
