Privacy Policy

The Malaysian Association of Yoga Instructors (MAYI) respects your privacy. This policy explains what we collect through mayi.org.my, why, and the choices you have. It is written with Malaysia’s Personal Data Protection Act 2010 in mind.

What we collect

• Membership applications: your name, mobile number, email, address, NRIC or passport number, gender, marital status, occupation and company, and the membership level you choose.
• Course enquiries, ICE and messages: your name, email, phone number and what you write to us.
• Yoga Mail by email: your email address and, if you give it, your first name.
• Certificate register: the names, certificate numbers, courses and dates of certificates issued by MAYI and MAYI Yoga Academy, so that anyone can check that a certificate is genuine.
• Basic technical data: our hosting provider keeps standard server logs (such as IP addresses) for security, and we use them only to protect the site.

Why we use it

• To process your membership, issue your member ID and card, and, if you are an instructor member, list your name as a registered member.
• To reply to your enquiry and help you choose a course and intake.
• To send you Yoga Mail and news, only if you confirmed your email address.
• To let the public verify a certificate: the verification page shows only the holder’s name, the course, the dates and whether the certificate is valid, one certificate at a time.

Your NRIC number is used only to identify you as a member. It is visible only to the MAYI administrators and is never shown on the website or sent by email. We never sell or rent your personal data.

Where it is kept

Your data is stored with Microsoft Azure, which hosts this site. Only MAYI’s administrators can see applications, the email list and the certificate register.

Your choices

• Every Yoga Mail email has a link to unsubscribe.
• To see, correct or delete what we hold about you, write to admin@mayi.org.my.

Changes

If we change this policy, we will update it here and change the date above.
